So last Sunday (July 17), as I was getting off work, Sophia called me and told me her Auntie Lily passed. I went to the viewing on Thursday. I'm not sure if you've ever seen an open casket, but a lot of the ones I've seen, the make up artist made the deceased person look kind of weird. But they did such a good job with Auntie Lily. She just looked like she was asleep. I felt really awkward taking a picture of her, so I only took it at a very steep angle so you could only barely see her face. Such a humble woman. She was dressed in her scrubs, and all her RN badges were hanging nearby. She also had a handbag that apparently contained perfume, make up, sweat pants, and a bra! Haha. She's so funny!
Saturday was the funeral. The ceremony was really sad, but it was a beautiful one. I felt awkward taking photos, so I only took a few when I felt it was appropriate. There was this part when they released balloons that I thought was really cute (there's photos in the album). After the burial, there was a reception... The reception area was tiny, and the line was so long! I waited 20 minutes or something, haha! Filipino food. :P I was surprised I even got some food because there were so many people. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos of the food. I linked the album below.

Later on in the day, I had my cousin's wedding reception to go to. I ended up taking my sweet time and got there right when the party was ending. But I ran into my cousin whom I haven't seen in a year since she's been stationed in Panama for the Peace Corps. A little bit of catching up and some In-N-Out Burger. Sophia invited me to a party, so I went after that. But because it was so late, by the time I got to Torrance, the keg was already empty! -_- It had Shock Top inside it, which is delicious, by the way. Since there wasn't nothing I wanted to drink (there was only hard liquor left), I ended up finding a guitar and playing some songs with Sophia and two other family members singing along. We fell asleep on a futon that we were sitting on. Haha.
Sunday morning, we ate breakfast at Danielle's house, and the Lazo family and myself went back to the cemetery to visit Auntie's grave. We parted ways afterwards, they had a family lunch to go to, and I had my cousin Jason's engagement party to go to. That was a fun party. Delicious food as usual. There was really good Sangria. And they also hired someone to serve tacos! And right when I was about to leave to go to Kina's show at Pittsford Park, I walked to one corner of the party and my uncles caught me and had me sit down and drink a shot of Crown Royal... It's impossible to say no! -_- I had to sober up really quickly (bread and water) and I brought my younger cousins with me to the show. I thought I was gonna get there late, but fortunately, she didn't start at 5pm. The show was great! It was just Kina and Keith Tutt. People started lining up when Kina announced "Message From Your Heart" was her last song. Gosh the line was very long! I left a little early to bring my cousiins back and to get to my house before everybody else. I told all the Kinerds there was a party at my house afterwards and had people bring some BBQ and drinks. It was pretty chill. Nothing exciting to report about the party. Carne Asada, beer, soda, chips, Hawaiian bread, hot dogs, quesadillas. I didn't really take photos at this party.
